An elderly woman found a man in her home who demanded she open the front door for him.

The burglary happened in Tyringham Close, Weston Favell where an 83-year-old woman found a man in her house.

She called a neighbour who arrived to find the man still in the house. The offender pushed the neighbour - a man in his early 70s - over, before leaving the house and running off towards Booth Lane.

The victim later discovered five rings, a bracelet and a small amount of cash had been stolen.

The offender was a tanned, white man, 5ft 10ins, of muscular build, in his mid-20s, with a fat face, short, cropped dark hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a black vest, dark trousers and was wearing white gloves.

Officers investigating a burglary in Northampton have now released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The burglary happened sometime between 4.30pm and 5pm on Tuesday, July 1.
