Senior detectives are investigating the death of a Northamptonshire pensioner.
Police officers were yesterday stationed outside a house in Queensway, Burton Latimer, following the death of a 76-year-old woman.
Speaking on Saturday afternoon, officers said they were not seeking anyone else in connection with the death and there was “no indication that there was any risk to the general public”.
On Sunday, a spokesman for the force revealed that two people had been arrested and released on bail.
He said: “Police are looking into the death of a 76-year-old local woman from Burton Latimer in Kettering.
“A 75-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman who were known to the deceased were arrested on Saturday and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
“The senior investigating officer is detective inspector Shuttleworth who is from the East Midlands Specialist Operations Unit, major crimes.”
