A gang of men in camouflage trousers and face coverings forced their way into an elderly couple’s Northampton home armed with weapons including a knife and iron bar.

An 80-year-old woman and an 81-year-old man were at home in Spenfield Court, Lings, at 7.30pm on Tuesday night when there was a knock at the front door.

After they answered the door the couple were confronted by seven men, four of whom pushed their way into the house. The man and woman challenged them and they subsequently left the house. Nothing was stolen.

The men are described as five white and two black men, all wearing camouflage patterned and black trousers, with dark face coverings. The victims sustained minor injuries.
