Police officers swapped their patrol car for a golf buggy to catch a high risk missing person at Kingsthorpe Golf Club on Friday afternoon.
Following reports that a missing person had been seen on the golf course in Kingsley Road, officers decided to chase him using a golf buggy.
A police spokesman said a man was subsequently caught and had been taken into protective custody.
The spokesman said the golf buggy was used as the officers did not want to drive their police vehicles onto the golf course.
Maks Swiderek, who witnessed the police chase, said: “Two officers ran down the golf course followed by two police cars going south via Kingsley Road, on siren.
“Lots of pedestrians were looking puzzled.”
