A 22-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after she was involved in a head-on collision with a car in Northampton.
The female cyclist was riding a bicycle on a down hill section of Holly Lodge Drive, Kingsthorpe, towards Moulton Park, when, for an unknown reason, she crossed the lane, directly into the path of a red VW Golf being driven by a 33-year-old man.
The cyclist was taken to Northampton General Hospital but was later transferred to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry with serious injuries.
The collision took place shortly before 1pm yesterday.
