A Northampton father is appealing for the return of a computer hard drive containing irreplaceable photographs of his daughter after it was stolen from his home.
Christopher Weatherley, aged 51, of Rydalside in Briar Hill returned home after work at around 5.45pm yesterday to find his home had been burgled.
Items including laptops, jewellery, games consoles, a TV, DVDs, camera and cash were taken, but Mr Weatherley, who lives with his fiance Maggie, said it was the hard drive he wants to find.
The computer contained numerous digital photographs of his daugher Lauren, who died, aged 19, after a serious epileptic fit, in September 2008.
Mr Weatherley, who is also a father to 28-year-old Sidina, said: “It’s the pictures I want back. They are the only ones I had of my daughter from when she was about nine as I put them on the hard drive after I split up with my wife so I could keep them.
“All of the rest of the things that were taken were just material things. I don’t care about those things. I just want the photos back. I can’t replace those.
“That’s the one thing that is killing me. It’s a horrendous feeling and one of despair.
“I’m stunned about what has happened and I just want the photographs back. They are my memories. I wish someone would bring them back before Christmas.”
It is thought the burglary took place between 8.15am and 5.45pm yesterday.
