An elderly man was attacked, bundled into his car boot and then followed home and robbed, police have said.

Detectives have appealed for information after the man parked his car in a garage block in the Greenwood Road area of St James last night between 7.45pm and 8.30pm.

The man was approached from behind by an attacker, who then demanded money from him.

He was then forced into the boot of his car while the man, together with a second man, searched the vehicle.

The victim was then handed back his car keys and returned home.

However, the main robber followed him home and forced his way into his home and stole cash.

He is described as a white man, 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build and with brown eyes. He was wearing a dark scarf, a dark grey woolly hat, a dark winter jacket and grey trousers.
