A man and a woman from Duston were both hospitalised with serious injuries following a road crash in Northamptonshire yesterday afternoon.

The two drivers were injured after their cars collided head-on on the A45, between Raunds and Stanwick, at around 4.50pm.

The crash involved a 24-year-old woman, who was driving a Volkswagen Polo, and a 60-year-old man, in a Volkswagen Passat, who was coming from the opposite direction.

Police say the Polo was found on the road, while the Passat was discovered in a nearside ditch.

The 24-year-old woman from Duston sustained pelvic injuries and was taken to Addenbrooks Hospital in Cambridge.

The 60-year-old man, also from Duston, suffered abdominal injuries and a broken left ankle and was also taken to Addenbrooks.
