A driver was grabbed and shoved against his car after he mistakenly parked in a disabled bay in Northampton.

Police have today appealed for witnesses after a 27-year-old man was assaulted in Wood Hill, at around 2.30pm on New Years Day.

A police spokesman said: “The victim had mistakenly parked his car in a disabled bay, which the offender took exception to.

“He parked behind the victim’s car, got out and began shouting at him before grabbing the jacket of the victim and pushing him up against the car.

“A woman the offender was with pulled him away and both cars left the scene.”

Police say the victim was not injured during the incident.

The attacker was white, aged around 65, of heavy build, with grey hair and was wearing a pair of thick-rimmed glasses.

He was around 5ft 7ins and wore a cardigan and jogging bottoms. He was driving a silver Kia Carens.
