Computer found with images of gorilla porn
POLICE who seized a computer for forensic analysis found depraved images of “a person performing an act of intercourse with a live gorilla”.
John Ridley, aged 32, was arrested when officers raided his Northampton home and seized his computer in October 2009.
As well as thousands of images of children being sexually abused, they also discovered evidence of extreme pornography involving animals.
Ridley appeared at Northampton Crown Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to 12 charges of making and possessing 34,909 indecent images of children and well as 50 pictures of extreme pornography showing bestiality with a gorilla and a dog.
He was initially accused of having 79,000 images on his computer, although the court heard many were duplicates.
Timothy Brown, prosecuting, said the abusive images were classed at every level of seriousness.
Pleading guilty to all the charges he faced, Ridley admitted downloading them while living at Shire Lodge, Blackthorn, between January and October 2009. He was required to sign the sex offenders’ register before leaving court.
Two of the charges he admitted stated the “images relate to several breeds of animal”.
The allegation was that he possessed an image of a person performing a sex act with a live unknown mammal and another involving a live dog. Another image showed a person peforming an act of intercourse with a live gorilla, Mr Brown told the court.
Judge Michael Fowler adjourned sentencing for a pre-sentence report to be prepared before granting bail to Ridley, of Kennett Green, Kings Heath.
He also banned him from using a computer and having any contact with children as part of his conditional bail.
The judge said: “This is your last opportunity to have the advantage of a report so you must be prepared to attend.”
