A stolen gift card for a high street store, which was given to the victim of a car break-in by their grandparents, has been found on a thief.

Officers stopped the man in Lutterworth Road, in Abington, last Monday and found the £40 Next gift card on him.

Police say the card was stolen from an unlocked car and was addressed to the victim, signed “Gran and Grandpa”.

They are now hoping to reunite the card with the rightful owner.

A force spokesman said: “We are looking to reunite a £40 Next gift card, believed stolen from an insecure vehicle in Northampton, with its owner.

“The card was recovered from a man who police stopped in the Lutterworth Road area of Northampton on Monday, January 28.

“The gift card is red and was a Christmas gift to a named individual from ‘Gran and Grandpa’.”

If anyone has recently been the victim of vehicle crime and believe the gift card belongs to them contact the Offender Management Team in Northampton on 101.
