The death of a canoeist who is believed to have drowned in a lake in Sixfields, Northampton, is not being treated as suspicious, a spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said.
Emergency services were called out to the lake shortly after 4pm on Sunday night after a man to reports of an overturned canoe.
Officers attended the scene with colleagues from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The body of a 57-year-old man was recovered from the lake just before 5pm, along with a canoe.
A police spokesman said the man’s death is not being treated a suspicious and a report was being prepared for the coroner.
