Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a house in Northampton, where the homeowners found a man in their property asking them for drugs.
The incident in Greenwood Road, St James, happened on Tuesday, January 7, between 8.50pm and 9.30pm.
The owners had been out and when they returned home, they found the man in their house. They chased him out, and he threatened them with a dumbbell shaft which he had stolen, and which he escaped with.
The offender is described as being of mixed race, with a missing front top tooth, of dishevelled appearance, aged around 30, about 5ft 7ins with an English accent.
He was wearing a grey hat with a green and red stripe around the bottom of it, a black jacket and grey jogging bottoms with white trainers. The man looked as if he had taken drugs and had bloodshot eyes.
Police would like to hear from anybody who thinks they may have seen a man matching this description in the Greenwood Road area of St James.
