A main road in Northampton town centre was closed this morning following a “small explosion”, police have confirmed.
Bridge Street was sealed off shortly before 10am, when fire crews and police were called to the scene.
The road was reopened a short time later.
A police spokesman has told the Chronicle & Echo the cause of the explosion is believed to have been a firecracker or firework.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
