Breaking News: Teen arrested after five injured in crash on Northamptonshire road
A TEENAGE boy has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a horror crash on a Northamptonshire road, which left his four young passengers in hospital.
The crash happened at 9.30pm on Saturday, when a red MG Rover ZR hatchback was travelling along the A422 near Brackley. The crash happened between the Oxford Road and Banbury Road roundabouts as the car was going towards the A43 when the car apparently lost control and left the road.
The driver and the four passengers, who police say are all aged between 14 and 17 years of age, all received injuries, including one who remains critically injured.
One of the passengers, a 14-year-old girl from Brackley, remains in a critical condition at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
A 17-year-old boy from Evenley and a 16-year-old boy from Brackley were also taken to John Radcliffe Hospital and are both in a “serious but stable condition”, police yesterday confirmed.
The fourth passenger, a 15-year-old girl from Brackley, was discharged after treatment at Northampton General Hospital following the crash.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Brackley, sustained minor injuries and was discharged following treatment at Northampton General Hospital. He was then arrested and bailed on suspicion of dangerous driving.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash. Anyone who saw the red MG Rover on the roads prior to the collision can call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.

Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 05:47 PMHow could a youth of 17 afford the insurance for that car? I wonder if he had insurance ? Whose car was it? I only hope the kids in hospital recover, the young girl is still very poorly.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:46 PM"...when the car apparently lost control and left the road..."...so it was the car's fault? It's bad enough that in these wonderful modern times no-one bothers to sub-edit this stuff but it was so poorly written that even the journalist who wrote it did not want to read it! As I said, the Chronic Echo!
