A gang of men threatening people in Duston and demanding cash while wearing ‘Jason’ style masks from the Friday the 13th films is being linked to another knifepoint robbery in the town.
The latest attack happened in Steene Street, on Monday April 14 between 7.20pm and 7.40pm. Three robbers wearing the masks, made famous by ‘Jason’ from the ‘Friday the 13th’ horror films, pushed a 34-year-old man against a wall in St James, Northampton, and threatened him with a knife.
A spokesman said: “The victim, a 34-year-old man, was walking down Steene Street when three men pushed him against a wall, threatened him with a knife and demanded money. The victim said he had no money and the offenders left empty-handed.
“The offenders were all wearing face masks, described as ‘Jason’ masks, a character from the Friday the 13th film series. They were also wearing dark-coloured hooded fleece tops, with the hoods up.
“We believe this incident may be linked to reports in the Duston area of people in similar masks approaching people in their homes and asking for cash and cigarettes.”
Witnesses to the crimes, or anyone who sees anyone with this type of mask, have been asked to contact Northamptonshire Police straight away on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
