Corby man denies theft charges

A Corby man has denied stealing a number of items including cars and a laptop.

Nicky Burton, of Lorne Court, pleaded not guilty to the six charges facing him via videolink at Northampton Crown Court yesterday (Friday).

On August 18, Burton is alleged to have stolen a handbag, rucksack, tablet computer, bike helmets and keys after entering a property in Yardley Close.

He is also alleged to have stolen keys from a house in Chesil Walk and taken a BMW without lawful authority on the same day.

Burton denied stealing a laptop, watch and keys from a house and Barnsley Walk and taking a Citroen car at some point between August 20 and August 23.

He also pleaded not guilty to stealing a till money drawer from Rockingham Takeaway in Rockingham Road on August 22.

Burton was remanded in custody to face a trial at Northampton Crown Court on January 9.
