Sky News presenters to compete in Strictly event at Silverstone

Sky News presenter Kay Burley is one of the star names set to take part in a Strictly-style competition at Silverstone next month.

Dancing With Sky’s Stars, which will be held at The Wing at Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit on March 22 and 23, will feature a number of Sky presenters including Natalie Sawyer, Vicky Gomersall, Julian Warren, Mike Wedderburn and Charlotte Hawkins.

Other contestants include Olympic bronze medallist Kelly Sotherton and cruiserweight world boxing champion Johnny Nelson.

Ahead of the event, Ms Burley took part in a dancing lesson at Step By Step dance school.

She said: “I’ve always wanted to dance since I was a little girl. When we used to go on holiday to Blackpool I used to stand on my daddy’s feet and be whisked around the ballroom.

“On the night it will be absolutely terrifying to dance in front of 1,000 people.”

The judging panel for the event will be Mark Ramprakash, former England Cricketer and winner of BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2006, Mark Foster, freestyle 50m World Swimming Champion and BBC Strictly Come Dancing competitor in 2008 and former Strictly contestant and Daybreak presenter Dan Lobb.

Money raised from the event will be donated to Cure For Dylan and Caring Matters Now.
