Pupils of The Bliss Charity School visited Northampton Garden Centre to gain first hand experience of tropical plants.
The year two children from the Nether Heyford school are currently studying a topic entitled ‘The Awesome Amazon’ and are learning about the plant life and threats to the rainforest.
The visited the garden centre in Newport Pagnell Road on Thursday afternoon and drew pictures of tropical plant life which will be converted into paintings at school.
Teacher Jenny Tcherniak-Morse said: “I think it is so important to get the children out of the classroom and learn from first hand experiences.
“I am incredibly grateful to the garden centre for their hospitality today and for providing us with this fabulous opportunity.”
