Paddle along the River Nene for Comic Relief

Charitable pirate paddlers can take to the River Nene to help raise money for Comic Relief.

Canoe2 is looking for 40 participants to take part in a 10-mile challenge along a stretch of the river in east Northamptonshire, on Friday, March 15.

The company is providing 20 two-person canoes, equipment & instruction free of charge for this challenge, and are being supported by Kelroy Minibuses, making sure that nobody is left marooned.

The only catch is that participants need to raise a minimum of £100 per canoe for Comic Relief.

Everyone who takes part will be part of the Pirate Paddlers team on the official Red Nose Day website.

Ian Blackwell, director of Canoe2, said: “A good pirate costume may well be necessary, but experience is not. If you’re a bit of a Jack Sparrow or Elizabeth Swann, that’s great, but Captain Pugwash is equally welcome, so give us a call and come join the fun”.

Anyone interested can call Canoe2 on Northampton 832115.
