A number of students at Northampton School for Boys have achieved a string of A* and A grades.
Rod Goldswain, acting headteacher, said: “Despite the national trend we are delighted that our five A* to C grades, including English and Mathematics has risen this year.
“We thank the teachers for their commitment to improve teaching and learning and we are absolutely delighted for our students.”
Top performing students included Elliot Wilde with 10*s, Harry Salt, Jack Kelly and William Evans with 9A*s, Indi Marriott with 8A*s and Andrew Hetherington with six A* and four A grades.
The top performing subjects in relation to the percentage of students achieving A* and A grades are Religious Eductaion 60 per cent, physics 48 per cent, maths 45 per cent, geography 43 per cent, biology and music 40 per cent and chemistry 38 per cent.
Top performing subjects with the number of students obtaining the top A* grade are maths with 38 students followed by physics, 23 students, and biology, 21 students.
David Chew, assistant headteacher, said: “It is wonderful to see so many delighted students and parents. The hard work has clearly been very worthwhile.”
