A careers event aimed at 16 to 24-year-olds will take place on Friday July 26.
The Youth Job Club Xtra is organised by Northamptonshire County Council for young people looking for careers advice, apprenticeships, training opportunities, further education and employment.
Exhibitors at the event include Connexions, Starting Off, Options 2, JHP Training, Northampton College, Moulton College, The University of Northampton, Construction Skills Council, The Army, The Royal Airforce, Aston Training, Key Training, Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership, The Library Service, Job Centre Plus, Nationwide, Nital Training and Decathlon.
Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership and Connexions will have a range of vacancies and apprenticeship places advertised at the event and both Nationwide and Decathlon are looking for evening and weekend staff.
Councillor Heather Smith, deputy leader and cabinet member for customers and communities, said: “We’ve organised for a wide range of organisations to attend, so this will be a great chance for young people to get all the advice and information they need to take their next steps, whether they are looking for careers advice, information about apprenticeships or help with training or education opportunities.”
Matt Croxon, team leader from Connexions, said: “The Job Club Xtra is an exciting event, with employers and apprenticeship providers with opportunities for young people all in one place. There is also an opportunity to talk to career advisers and have help with writing a CV through workshops. I would really encourage young people, parents or carers to come along.”
The careers event takes place from noon to 3pm at the Central Library in Abington Street, Northampton.
