New parish priest for Brixworth and Holcot

A former professional musician will be the next parish priest in Brixworth.

Chloe Willson-Thomas will become the new priest-in-charge of Brixworth and Holcot on April 20, when she is licensed by the Bishop of Peterborough, the Rt Revd Donald Allister.

Chloe was ordained in 2009 and served her curacy in Knighton, Leicester. She trained for ordination at Ripon College, Cuddesdon in Oxford.

Her first degree is in music and she also has a postgraduate diploma in advanced musical performance from the RNCM (Manchester). She has also been undertaking a theology degree at Oxford University.

Prior to ordination she was a freelance professional singer and singing teacher, who worked with Northampton Music Service, and taught singing at Northampton High School for Girls.

She is passionate about music and theology, and combining them creatively in worship, and also very interested in singing and the speaking voice. She is also interested in interfaith work especially Hinduism.

Outside of work, Chloe enjoys photography, piano, painting and sketching.

Chloe’s husband, Gwion Thomas, is a Welsh-speaking Welshman who is a freelance opera and concert soloist. He is due to sing at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in the autumn, in Mark Anthony Turnage’s opera Greek.

The couple have three children - Angharad, aged 17, Huw, aged 15, and Sian, aged 11.
