New leather goods business launches in Northampton

New leather goods company Mr NN has launched in Northampton

New leather goods company Mr NN has launched in Northampton

A new leather goods brand inspired by the county’s rich industrial heritage has launched in Northampton.

Mr.NN, which launched this week, produces handcrafted belts and accessories incorporating the traditions and classic designs of footwear detailing. All belts feature the maroon colour which is traditionally associated with Northamptonshire.

Mr.NN was founded in Northampton in November 2012 by Mark Higgs, founder and owner of independent store Commonn, and Chris Vandrill, a local fashion designer who trained at The University of Northampton, and went on to complete his studies at Saint Martins in London.

Both men have committed to never making any goods outside of Great Britain.

Mr Vandrill said: “Currently we have three belt ranges - denim, tailored and a hand-plaited woven belt, with a variety of colours. The products are aimed at our interpretation of today’s gentlemen who appreciate quality goods handmade in Great Britain.

“This is only a starting point for us, and a platform for other luxury leather goods, all sourced and made as close to Northamptonshire as possible.”
