Anti-bullying songs wow Northampton judges

Notivate Anti-Bullying Song Writing Competition final at Spinney Hill Theatre.

Notivate Anti-Bullying Song Writing Competition final at Spinney Hill Theatre.

The live music final for the Notivate Anti-Bullying Song Writing Competition took place at Spinney Hill Theatre.

Imaan Hussain, Isabella Wright and Tasha Mushango, of Abington Vale Primary School, won the junior category with the song ‘A Change of Mind’, under the guise of Harmony ITI.

The senior winners were Melissa Cowern and Dani Jones of Latimer Arts College.

The evening celebrated the culmination of a countywide song writing competition for young people.

Contestants were asked to write a song that carries a strong anti-bullying message and could be used in schools and youth clubs.

The winners received a trophy and the chance to record their song with a live band at The Stables Music Studio in Wavendon.

Song writing was chosen by the Notivate Trust as it enables children speak more easily about issues in their lives such as bullying, family breakdown, bereavement, friendship and dreams.
