Community group gets cash to help people in Northampton estates get active
Bellinge Community House, in partnership with Northamptonshire Sport have been successful in their application for Northamptonshire Community Foundation funding.
A new project set up in the Billing, Bellinge and Ecton Brook areas of Northamptonshire has been awarded £9,857.05 to provide a low cost, accessible programme of sport and training opportunities that will impact on the long-term participation levels of those living in the area.

Hide AdThe project will officially launch in January 2017 as it begins to deliver its beginner jogging group, health walks, Nordic walking and weight management programmes.
The programme will specifically target those who are inactive and especially women and girls, older people, disabled people and those from black and ethnic minority backgrounds.
The project is currently recruiting volunteers for the roles of local activators and community champions. The champions’ roles will include helping with the co-ordination and day to day running of the activities as well as helping promote the activities in the local community through word of mouth, and distributing flyers and posters. Meanwhile, the local activators will help to plan and prepare for activity sessions, support the delivery of fun and customer focused activity sessions as well as supporting the basic administration and reporting tasks on behalf of the ABC Project.
