People in Northampton with a passion for collecting are being invited to take part in a special exhibition at Abington Park Museum this autumn.

The museum is looking for keen collectors to get in contact to take up the opportunity of displaying their treasures at a Collectors’ Day event from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, October 24.

Organisers from Northampton Museum & Art Gallery are hoping the exhibition will feature a wide range of collections, from toys to costumes, fossils, music memorabilia and ceramics. Family friendly collections of all types will be considered.

Councillor Brandon Eldred, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for community engagement, said: “This is the first time we have held a Collectors’ Day and we hope the free exhibition will be an opportunity for all the family to celebrate collecting and share ideas about what the museum should be collecting.”

The closing date for applications is Monday, October 12. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should call 01604 838111 or email museums@northampton.gov.uk
