A matchday sponsor has awarded a lucky Northampton Town Football Club fan £1000 after he mastered the half time 'Skip Challenge'.
Mick George Ltd offers fans a cash prize of £250 if they can 'chip' a football from the halfway line into one of their yellow skips located on the edge of the 18-yard box.
The prize fund has grown each week and reached £1,000 when the Cobblers played Oxford United FC last weekend (Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March).
Spectator, Phillip Emery, landed the prize at Sixfields Stadium.
Jon Stump, finance director at Mick George said: ‘’The aim of the Skip Challenge is to offer some entertainment to spectators throughout half time.
"It has been well received, but now that a contestant has taken home the jackpot prize, I’m sure more people will be itching to have a go.’’
‘’The Northampton fans can also take bragging rights over rivals Peterborough United FC, as they’re the first club this season to achieve the main prize.’’
Cobblers fans are encouraged to follow in Phillip's footsteps to conquer the 'Skip Challenge' in forthcoming home fixtures.
