The club-goer, who was in her twenties, left Balloon Bar in Bridge Street at about 1am on Thursday October 13 and got into a car that she believed to be a taxi.

On the way back to her house, the male driver stopped at a cash machine in Kettering Road so she could get some money out.

After arriving at her house, the driver walked the woman to the door and followed her into the house before making his way up to her bedroom, without her realising.

The driver then started to “touch the young woman inappropriately,” a police spokeswoman said, before she managed to push him out of the room and lock the door. The man then fled the house and drove away.

The man, who is described as Asian, middle-aged and about 5ft 5in is understood to be of average build with a pot belly.

He had black, thinning hair and was wearing a black leather jacket. He was also wearing a wedding ring.
