A range of Halal chicken dishes will be on the menu, including black bean or curry with rice.

Nick Mayflower, who owns the restaurant, said: "We just wanted to help the homeless people I see around Northampton. It's cold out there and I hope we can feed a few people a good meal on the day.

"We hope to make a give out 50 to 100 lunch boxes. All the chicken dishes are Halal as well. I've given out flyers and raised some awareness on Facebook, so hopefully we will be able to help a lot of people."

A count by Northampton Borough Council estimated 15 people sleep rough in the town, but the number could be as high as 25.
