A celebration of the life of Northampton teenager Jake Hood will be held at Franklin’s Gardens on Tuesday, January 19, it has been announced.

The 19-year-old, who had been battling an aggressive form of leukaemia, passed away at his home in Delapre on December 23.

Jo and Paul, Jake’s parents, have announced that a celebration of life service will be held at the home of Northampton Saints at 12.30pm on January 19.

The service, which will feature a speech by a humanist celebrant, will be followed by a burial at Towcester Road cemetery. There will then be an event at Northampton BBOB after that.

The dress code for the service is black and white, which was chosen by Jake himself.

In a Facebook post, Jake’s mum Jo said: “It would be good to see everyone that has known Jake to get together and give him the send off that he deserves.”
