Aspers Northampton has been nominated twice in the forthcoming Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards.

The casino’s Clary’s Restaurant is among the finalists in the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ category and it has also been nominated for ‘Best Late Night Venue’ in the Best Bar None Award.

The annual awards ceremony celebrates the very best in local food and drink and highlights best practice and excellent customer care.

Clary’s Restaurant is considered by many Northamptonshire diners as a hidden gem. Tucked away on the casino’s first floor, this stylish and airy venue is currently rated ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’ by 97 percent of reviewers on the TripAdvisor website.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been nominated in two different categories in this year’s awards”, said David Stratford, general manager at Aspers Casino.

“At Aspers Northampton we pride ourselves on providing all our guests with a fantastic experience in a safe and welcoming environment.

“These awards reflect the very best the county has to offer and recognise responsible management and excellent customer care. We’re proud to be associated with such a positive initiative which showcases great local food and drink,” he added.

The Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards is an annual competition aimed at celebrating all that is great about local food and drink, recognising excellence within the county’s dining and drinking venues and rewarding those who work so hard within the culinary sector.

Devised by Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership and launched in the spring each year, the Awards attract hundreds of entries from restaurants, pubs, chefs, cafés and producers as well as nominations and recommendations from the public.

After seven months of judging – including tasting panels, mystery shopping visits, cook-offs and public voting – the competition culminates in a spectacular Awards Dinner next month at Royal & Derngate in Northampton.

Best Bar None is a National Award Scheme supported by the Home Office and aimed at promoting responsible management and operation of alcohol licensed premises.

Aspers Northampton were runners-up in last year’s Best Bar None Awards having previously won the title in 2012 and 2013. Clary’s is Northampton’s only top quality late night restaurant, closing at 3am weekends and 2am weekdays.
