Emergency services were called out to two crashes on the A428 near Northampton this afternoon.
The Harlestone Road was closed in both directions for more than two hours after a crash involving a lorry and a car at about 3pm.
Fire crews helped remove an elderly couple from the car and they were taken to Northampton General Hospital by ambulance.
Sergeant Sam Dobbs tweeted the couple had been taken to hospital for “checks”.
Police were then called out to the A428 in East Haddon after a car overturned on a bend in the road.
Sgt Dobbs tweeted the driver was not injured. The road was blocked for abut 20 minutes while the car was recovered.
Sgt Dobbs said he had asked for a report on the road surface.
