Busy road in Northampton closed after lorry catches fire

A lorry has caught on fire in a busy Northampton road.

A busy road in Northampton is closed due to a lorry fire.

Park Avenue North is closed at the junction with Abington Avenue and Wellingborough Road while emergency services deal with the incident.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service were called to the lorry fire at around 1.20pm today (June 25).

The fire has now been extinguished, but the road remains closed.

A man in his 50s is being treated at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
