Silverstone Wing generated £1.6 million in 2012

Silverstone’s Wing complex generated more than £1.6 million in revenue in 2012, circuit bosses have said.

In its first full year of operation, the £27 million conference and exhibition centre hosted more than 50 events and attracted more than 120 new clients, as well as winning the Best Large Event Space of the Year at the Event Awards.

The Wing has also played host to global brands such as Apple, Red Bull, Coca-Cola and Tesco, and the final stages of its construction were completed in June.

Silverstone managing director Richard Phillips said: “We are delighted by the industry’s response to The Wing. As a relatively new facility, we have been striving to establish ourselves as a corporate event space and we feel this has been acknowledged with the number of accolades it has won and been shortlisted for.

“We already have a high percentage of repeat bookings, as well as some new clients booked in for next year, so we must be doing something right. We are extremely proud of the successes we have achieved so far and, following the triumphs of 2012, we will continue to develop as a venue and as a destination in 2013.”
