The Miss Selfridge store in Northampton’s Grosvenor Centre has now closed.

The store, which is part of the Arcadia group, is the latest retail outlet to close on the ground floor of the shopping centre.

In recent weeks signs went up in the window to say that the store was closing, advising shoppers that the nearest Miss Selfridge is in Milton Keynes.

The store held closing down sales in its final days to reduce stock.

The shop has now closed and the unit stands empty.

House of Fraser and Republic - which are in the same area of the shopping centre - have also closed down in recent months.

Internacionale could also be shutting down soon as the chain has gone into administration.

Next and Primark are expected to move into the vacant House of Fraser site later this year.

Earlier this month Russell Hall, Grosvenor Centre manager, said Miss Selfridge was offered alternative accommodation but added that they weren’t looking for a ‘long term position’ in the shopping centre.
