London Midland has announced details of timetable changes over the Christmas period.
The rail operator, which runs the majority of services through Northampton, will implement a reduced timetable from 1pm on Christmas Eve.
There will be no trains on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, with a reduced timetable running until 10am on Friday, December 27.
This will be followed by a normal weekday service on most routes, with slightly fewer commuter trains than usual.
A revised service will operate to and from London Euston, with fewer trains than normal between Tring and London. The Bedford to Bletchley service will also be reduced to two-hourly.
The same timetable will be in place on Saturday, December 28, with rail replacement buses from Watford Junction to London after 10.30pm.
Rail replacement buses will run to and from Euston on Sunday, December 29, then on Monday, December 30, Birmingham-Coventry-Northampton trains will run to a Saturday timetable, with a revised service operating between Northampton and London, and significant alterations before 10am.
On New Year’s Eve, Birmingham-Coventry-Northampton trains will also run to a Saturday timetable, with a revised service operating between Northampton and London.
To allow people to watch the New Year celebrations in London, the 00.04 and 01.34 departures from Euston will be retimed to 01.05hrs and 02.00hrs.
On New Year’s Day, revised timetables will apply on the Euston line due to engineering works, including rail replacement buses between Rugby and Northampton. There will be no service between Bedford and Bletchley.
The normal timetable resumes on Thursday, January 2.
