Moulton is set to receive a £1m cash boost for schools, health care and youth facilities in the area.
Housebuilder Redrow has detailed planning consent to build 145 homes on Northampton Lane North in Moulton.
The housing development, known as Carey Fields, will bring a host of benefits to those already living in the area, as Redrow has pledged to invest more than £5 million in the community.
John Mann, managing director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), based in Northampton, said: “The additional benefits new housing can bring are often overlooked, including employment, support for local shops and services, plus the associated investment in the surrounding infrastructure.
“In Moulton, Redrow will be committing £4 million to the building of affordable homes to meet local needs, but it doesn’t stop there. We’ll also be investing £1 million in local schools and contributing to local health care, youth facilities and the library. These measures will benefit people already living in the neighbourhood, along with those who buy our homes.”
Redrow will pay £100,000 towards youth facilities, plus more than £65,000 towards health care. The company will also contribute £9,000 towards maintaining a play area and will provide 35,000 square metres of open space as part of the development.
Carey Fields will offer 103 homes for private sale from two to five bedrooms.
