Burglars use garden spade to break into Northamptonshire home before stealing jewellery

Burglars who used a garden spade to force their way into a Northamptonshire house stole jewellery before making their escape in a getaway car.

Two offenders knocked on the door of a house in Great Lane in Hackleton on Tuesday, June 16, and when they didn’t get a response went round to the back of the property and used a garden spade to force open the rear patio doors.

After stealing jewellery between 12.40 and 12.50pm they made off in a dark blue vehicle, believed to be a Vauxhall, being driven by a third offender.

All three offenders are described as white and aged between 30 – 40 years of age.
