Northampton is set to host the Britain’s Strongest Woman competition for the third year in a row later this month.

The women will battle it out over six gruelling events at the Northampton Casuals Rugby Ground, in Bedford Road, Rushmills, to test their strength, speed and power in a bid to be crowned Britain’s Strongest Woman 2016.

The contest, which is split into three different weight class groups: under 63kg (around 9.5 stone), under 82kg (around 12.5 stone), and then the open weight category, will be held on Sunday, August 21.

The top three from each class will be invited to compete at Europe’s Strongest Woman in December this year.

As well as the competition there will be a range of family entertainment including a barbecue, stalls and a bouncy castle.
