The bridge had been rendered impassable following the fire, caused when a stolen golf buggy was set alight on the bridge.

The Country Park, off Northern Way, Daventry, recently achieved the Green Flag Award, recognising it as among the country’s best open spaces.

Its new sensory garden – situated on the path which runs from the car park to the visitor centre – also recently opened.
