Police in Northampton are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing man who was last seen in the town in September last year.
Adeyemi Olugbuyi, 33, was last seen in North Holme Court, Thorplands, on September 14 last year.
Police believe Olugbuyi may have fled Northampton after being involved in an altercation. He is known to have links in the London area but could have travelled to any part of the UK.
Adeyemi, who is Nigerian, is also known as ‘Baz’ or ‘Big Man’ and is described as being of muscular build.
He has not made contact with family members in the seven months he has been missing which is out of character for him.
Earlier this month police searched an area of woodland known as Little Billing Arbour near to where he went missing as part of their enquiries but no trace of Adeyemi was found.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Lyall, from Northampton CID, said: “We are asking for the public’s help to locate Adeyemi, who could be anywhere in the UK.
“He was last seen in Northampton on 13 September last year and has not been in contact with his family since – something that is completely out of character for him. He would usually be in contact with his family at Christmas and at other significant points of the year.
“We believe he was involved in an altercation on the night of 13 September and may have fled the town as a result.
“I am appealing directly to Adeyemi to contact us or his family to let us know he is safe and well.
“I am also appealing for the public’s help in locating him. Adeyemi is not in any trouble, we just want to establish his whereabouts.
“Adeyemi, or anyone who may have seen him in the last seven months, is asked to contact us on 101, or 03000 111 222 if you are outside of Northamptonshire.”
