A woman from Northampton has managed to lose six stone in weight after taking up bodybuilding.
Sarah Oldham, of Duston, weighed 15 stone 11 years ago and struggled to lose weight for many years after trying different diets and gym regimes.
But 18 months ago the 32-year-old started bodybuilding training and has now got her weight down to eight-and-a-half stone.
Ms Oldham, who now competes in bodybuilding competitions in Europe, said: “You lose more weight when you have more muscle as your are burning calories.
“I would recommend bodybuilding training as it gives you curves.
“I think a lot of women are scared to go into what I call the ‘meathead’ weights area in the gym but I would say go for it.
“Everybody has noticed a difference in my confidence since I started bodybuilding. It has really changed my life,” she added.
