Acrobats and a circus performers will be in Northampton town centre this Saturday as part of the borough council’s annual summer entertainment programme.
A beach is due to be installed in the Market Square as well as fairground rides and a range of local musicians will be performing in the town centre until Saturday, August 30.
Free events will also be held Abington Street and All Saints Piazza and the programme of entertainment has been organised by Northampton Borough Council in partnership with the Northampton music 365 project, Most Marvellous, Northampton Leisure Trust and the Northampton Town Centre BID.
Councillor Brandon Eldred, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for community engagement, said: “Once again we have organised a summer filled with events for the town. From live music concerts to beer festivals as well as outdoor film showings, Northampton has been able to enjoy a wide variety of events suitable for the whole family.
“And starting this weekend, the Love Northampton Summer Events programme will deliver quality entertainment, creating a great atmosphere for shoppers, families and visitors coming into the town.”
Jo Burns-Russell from Northampton Music 365, said: “It’s fantastic that we are able to work with Northampton Borough Council to program a summer of great local music in the Town Centre, after the success of this year’s Northampton Music Festival we know that the people of Northampton really like to support local musical talent, and we’ll have a great mix of bands young and old playing over the coming weeks.”
