An apprentice working with firm in Northampton has come in fourth place at a EuroSkills event in Gothenburg.

Dan Martins, who is an apprentice at Briggs and Forrester in Kingsthorpe, took on a series of highly technical challenges against ten other Europeans in his division.

Eamon Wilson, from EAS Mechanical, said: "I am extremely proud of Dan and it just shows what can be achieved with sold hard work."

Dan was the first plumber to compete in EuroSkills and he was delighted to have been placed fourth and receive his Medal of Excellence.

Mr Wilson added: "We seen the potential talent, Briggs an Forrester's has supported the talent and Paul has honed those skills to another level. But the success is down to Dan, who has delivered, stepped up when asked, has practiced, improved, listened, learned, developed and has become more confidant in what he can achieve."
