A supermarket is recruiting 120 people, including staff to work at two new stores in Northamptonshire.

Aldi is looking to recruit around 85 shop assistants, 25 stock assistants, 10 deputy store managers, four assistant store managers and four caretakers across Northamptonshire to support its existing and upcoming stores.

Stores they want to recruit to include one in Kingsthorpe, Northampton and at Stanier Retail Park, Kettering, which are due to open later in the year.

Nicola Morgan, Aldi store operations director, said: “Northamptonshire is a key area of growth for us, and with a number of new stores planned over the next year we are recruiting for a significant number of store positions.

“We are looking to attract applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds, including supermarket, fast-food and clothing chains, who can demonstrate relevant retail experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.”

Most Aldi stores employ between 30 and 40 staff.

The company says store assistants will need to have a good level of numeracy and will be responsible for stock management and merchandising.

Full training will be provided over 12 weeks with hours ranging from 20 to 30 hours a week. The role wil pay £8.15 per hour.

Deputy Store Manager roles start from 20 hours per week, with a starting salary of £9.15 per hour rising to £10.75 per hour, plus £3.95 extra per hour when managing the store.
