An amputee who lost an arm and both legs after a failed suicide attempt has got married in the Bahamas, to the physiotherapist who helped him walk again.
Craig Bowler, from Olney, tried to take his own life by climbing a 30ft electricity pylon.

Although he survived a 30,000 volt shock, he was left severely injured and doctors were unable to save his limbs.

By April last year, he was well enough to be fitted with prosthetic legs and 23-year-old Abby Williams was one of the physiotherapists tasked with teaching him how to walk again.

In June 2007, Mr Bowler completed a sponsored walk round Olney to raise £3,000 for Milton Keynes-based charity Operation Sunshine.

Charity director Jackie Connell organised a trip to the Bahamas so Mr Bowler could fulfil his dream to swim with dolphins.

But at the last minute, the couple revealed they were getting married out there.

Mr Bowler, who now plans to train as a counsellor for people with depression, said he was "over the moon".

He said: "Eighteen months ago I wanted to kill myself. Today I am the happiest man in the world.

"Who would ever have believed it?"
