Some of the country's top tribute acts will be providing the evening entertainment at the revived Northampton Town Show later this month.
The show was a traditional fixture in the town, being held in Abington Park every year for more than 75 years, but after the foot and mouth outbreak in 2001 it was merged with the Northampton Balloon Festival.

The Northampton Saints rugby club has revived the show and it will make a comeback as a two-day festival at Franklin's Gardens later this month.

As well as the many activities being held during the day, there will be two evening concerts.

The first, on Saturday May 24, includes tribute acts such as Beatlemania, Killer Queen, Planet Abba and Vogue (Madonna).

Number one hits by Robbie Williams, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra will also be performed by other tribute acts during A Tribute To The Legends, a four-hour showcase at the main stadium.

Killer Queen have been the world's number one Queen tribute band for over 15 years, performing all over the planet, in Moscow, Dubai and Cannes.

For more than 15 years, Beatlemania have built up a huge nationwide following, appearing alongside many original 1960s and modern day acts, while Planet Abba is one of the leading Abba tribute shows.

The following night, on Sunday May 25, the London Pops Orchestra will be performing 'That's Entertainment', with music straight from the West End, as well as Prom classics such as Jerusalem and Land of Hope And Glory.

The two-day festival starts on Saturday, May 24, with the gates opening at 10am.

A spokesman for the organising committee said: "The town show promises to be a really great day, with a superb concert to top it off.

"There will be something for everyone in what will be a great family event."

Entry to the show will cost £1.50 for juniors and £2.50 for adults.

Tickets for Saturday's 'Tribute to the Legends' show and Sunday's Picnic on the Pitch are available from the Saints' ticket office on Northampton 581000, priced at £15 for adults and £10 for children each evening.
