A teenager is appealing to Northamptonshire residents to vote for her to be crowned Page 3 Idol 2009.
Kelly Hall, aged 18, of Ashby Fields, Daventry, has beaten off competition from thousands of other aspiring topless models to make it through to the final 20 of the annual competition.

The former William Parker School pupil appeared in The Sun on Monday and is hoping to win the ultimate prize of a cheque for £5,000 and a year's contract with the national newspaper.

Miss Hall, who is currently working as a beautician at the Beauty Stop in Daventry, said: "I like Page 3 because it is not tacky like some of the magazines are.

"I could not even begin to describe how I would feel if I won.

"The photo shoot was amazing and it was really surreal being surrounded by all the other Page 3 girls.

"I would like to appeal to all the people in Northamptonshire to vote for me to win the competition."

The 18-year-old made her first progress in the competition during a night out at Lava & Ignite in Northampton, when she was chosen ahead of 12 other girls who were dressed in bikinis.

Miss Hall, who has previously been voted Miss Teen Queen UK, is hoping to follow in the footsteps of her idol Keeley Hazell and enjoy a lucrative modelling career.

Nice to see such open-minded comments, not judgemental at all.

Not a career I would suggest personally, but if that is what she wishes to do, then good luck to her.

Lilithh I was thinking exactly the same - getting your breasts out in a Tabloid is not exactly setting a standard for 'role model'.

Today's society seems to be too excited with creating scandal. I think it is a shame that as an 18 year old that is all she can offer.

Bring back Mary Whitehouse. Whilst some of us may not have agreed with the way she did things, she did have a point; respect & decentcy.

Mallit 2.- How could showing off your thrupennies to every Tom, Dick and Harry ever remotely be described as a career?

I agree with Mallit, leave the girl alone and let her do what she wants to do.

I know a couple of people pretty well that were/are Page 3 girls and you couldn't meet such nice people and they have used their fame to raise thousands for charity and/or to support the troops who are away from their families.

I wonder if the people with negative comments on here have made such important contributions.

Kelly is 18 she can do whatever the hell she likes, good luck Kelly

Quite simply, pipenslippers, because you can make a lot of money from it - just look at the lifestyle Jordan lives. Loathe and despise her as I do, I cannot deny that she has created a very rich and luxurious life for herself when compared to anyone else I know (although it doesn't seem to be bringing her happiness!).

As I said previously, I wouldn't encourage anybody to be a part of it - but accusing a girl of having no self-esteem, no self-respect and having nothing else to offer, when they (probably) dont even know her is simply narrow-minded, and in my opinion is just as detrimental as the very parts of society they look down upon.

If she wants to try and be a model, then let her make her own decisions, and her own mistakes. I once saw documentary on wannabe Page 3 models, and for every Keeley and Jordan there are thousands that dont make it, or end up in porn or the such. Thats the way it is.

Interesting to read different peoples viewpoints.

What I was trying to get at, is that the culture we live in seems to concentrate on having a '5 min wonder' as being 'successful'.

I am not an old man, but at 45 I just find that people no longer have respect for others, others property and least of all, themselves.

The World we live in seems to concentrate on 'who we are' & 'what we have got' or haven't got. Unless we are seen in the 'public eye' or don't have a big house, big car or big salary there is now a perception that we have not achieved or 'given' to the World.

When I was younger, I was educated by my parents, school teachers & youth workers that if you wanted something, you need to work for it, save for it. Nowadays people just expect everything on a plate, get it on the 'never, never' and blame others when things go wrong.

Speaking to some of the elderly folk I do shopping for, whilst it was hard years ago, wondering where the next meal was coming from it appears they had a more satisfied life. They spent time with their families & friends. Nowadays, having a family meal together is unheard of. That is such a shame.

I agree with TinyTom that the decisions she had made, are her own. However, it is such a shame that she has chosen a career which is so public. Would I like my daughter to be spread all over page 3? No way!
