Yes they have electricity, but they use 210
liters of drinking water a day and cannot boil that much in a day.

given that many kettles can boil 1.7 litres of water in little under 3 minutes, it would take 125 kettles of water and approx 8 hours to boil this, then theres all the time that it would take to let it cool enough for the animals to drink (it could take upto an hour for it to cool enough to give to an animal to drink). so boiling water is just not practical in every case.

Whilst I DO sympathise with places like this, I wonder where the figure of "210 litres" comes from?

Our dog drinks about half a litre per day ... 42 dogs = 21 litres ... who's trying to fool people into thinking that a dog will drink 5 litres of water in a day?

The water is in 5 litres buckets and then tipped out in the kennel to help clean. Fresh water is then replaced and is a requirement to have a supply of fresh water. If you have ever worked in kennels before you would understand the requirements necessary. So they therefore must need 210 litres a day.

Surely there must be someone outside the area that could provide tap water for these dogs.

I had about 10 litres of boiled and cooled water in my fidge, my 8 year old son begged me to take it over to the 'poor dogs'. we travelled 20 miles through rush hour traffic to do it, we delivered the water but then, my son was totally gutted as he was told all the dogs were sleeping so he couldn't see any of them when he could clearly hear them all barking, my eight year old is now saying 'never again am i doing anyone else any favours.'

I have just been in touch with the centre and they have
just had the green card to say they are all clear
so a big thank you to all of you who have helped the dogs.
